ein sehr interessantes tool für ableton live. (habs erst gelesen, test folgt noch)
controlAid was designed to help maximize the use of MIDI controllers with Live. Although primarily intended for Live users, it could also be helpful when used with any program that allows you to custom map midi messages to selected controls. The program is freeware and runs in Mac OSX 10.2 and higher.

controlAid does the following:

* converts mouse movements for the entire screen to two user defined CC messages, one for the x axis and one for the y. When used with the 1->many option this allows you to control up to 12 cc messages (and thus 12 knobs or faders in Live) simultaneously using your cursor.
* sets up a group of CC messages and note on messages to control the parameters of grouped midi messages, or "tracks".
* lets you choose which track is being controlled with a user defined cc message
* once you choose a track your notes, sliders, knobs and buttons now control the track you selected. This allows the same set of note on messages and CC messages to control the same parameters on every track. For example, you could have two knobs which control the volume and pan on 8 different tracks, all depending on which one you have currently selected.
* when a track is selected for control, it is automatically selected and highlighted in Live so that you can view the effects for the track you are now modifying.
* converts program change messages to note on messages for people with foot controllers that only send program change.
* allows you to delete a selected clip in Live using a user-defined note on message. This is useful for deleting clips from a pedalboard in the event you create an undesirable loop.
* allows you to have three "one-to-many" note on or cc triggers. When these notes or cc messages are received, controlAid will create up to 5 additional cc / note on messages as defined by the user. Examples of use include triggering 6 one-shot clips with a single note, or controlling the cutoff frequency for the filters of 6 different tracks with a single knob, slider or pedal. All MIDI messages generated by the mouse are sent through these transformations.
* clipFill mode is an optimized way to quickly loop through a user defined range of slots using a single note on message. This allows a user to quickly record into a predefined number of slots and then immediately start triggering them for playback, all using a single switch pedal or note.
* controlAid can merge two MIDI inputs into a single output. This allows you to use three input devices for control in Live intead of two, which is Live's normal limit.
